Capoeira Brasil

Capoeira Brasil is an international cultural organization, dedicated to the preservation and evolution of the art of Capoeira. Founded in 1989 in Rio de Janeiro, the group has contributed immensely to the worldwide growth of Capoeira, introducing the art to millions of people. Capoeira Brasil, with schools in over 25 countries spanning six continents, is an ambassador of Brazilian culture and an innovator in the art of Capoeira.

Benção Brasil Cultural Center is home to Capoeira Brasil Los Angeles (CBLA). Benção Brasil is a 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides after school enrichment programs, Capoeira-physical education classes for elementary and high school students, cultural performances, training scholarships, camps, cultural trips, and special workshops. Benção Brasil is also developing a gang intervention program for youth in economically challenged neighborhoods. It is our mission to provide Southern California youth with a creative, physical outlet, an alternative to drugs, gangs, and violence.
